Prime Wellness of Pennsylvania Receives Operational Permit for Medical Marijuana Grow Facility
PWPA on track for first phase of site build-out in Berks County
SOUTH HEIDELBERG TOWNSHIP, PA – Jan. 4, 2018 – Prime Wellness of Pennsylvania announced that it has secured a state permit to grow and process medical marijuana at its newly constructed 30,000-square-foot facility in South Heidelberg Township. After meeting stringent criteria by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH), Prime Wellness is ready to begin the cultivation process.
Prime Wellness was one of 12 companies awarded permits for growing and processing medical marijuana by the DOH in June 2017, and one of two companies in Berks County. The company’s permit covers Region 1, which includes Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Montgomery, Philadelphia and Schuylkill counties.
Construction began in September on the brand new facility, which was designed to create a state-of-the-art indoor operation for safely cultivating, extracting, processing and packaging medical marijuana in DOH-approved forms (e.g. vape pens, capsules). Products will be available for sale to Pennsylvania dispensaries starting in the spring of 2018.
“We are excited to have met this important milestone and look forward to moving on to the next phase of our efforts to enable compassionate health care through the legal and ethical use of medical marijuana,” said Sharon Ali, CEO of Prime Wellness of Pennsylvania. “In order to accomplish this, we are committed to building relationships with dispensaries and healthcare providers during this exciting time in Pennsylvania’s growing medical marijuana industry.”
Stackhouse Bensinger, Inc., of Sinking Spring, Pa., is the engineer and Harrisburg-based Quandel Construction Group, Inc., is general contractor for the project.
