Company aims to open Pennsylvania’s first grow site for medical marijuana in Berks County

Prime Wellness of Pennsylvania LLC says it intends to be operational before the state’s Dec. 20 deadline and is “well positioned” to be the first in the state because it has already received approval from the Berks County Conservation District and the South Heidelberg Township Board of Supervisors.

Prime says its approved 30,000-square-foot growing facility will be at an undeveloped site, “with a 25,000-square-foot greenhouse planned for a second phase of development.” The facility “will include indoor space to cultivate, process and package medical marijuana” securely as required by the state.
