Studies have shown that medical marijuana can assist patients suffering from certain serious medical conditions by alleviating pain and improving their quality of life. Under the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Act, the term “medical marijuana” refers to marijuana obtained for certified medical use by a qualifying Pennsylvania resident with one or more of the qualifying serious medical conditions approved by the state Department of Health.
Current approved forms of medical marijuana in Pennsylvania include:
- Topical forms, including gel, creams, or ointments,
- Forms medically appropriate for administration by vaporization or nebulization, excluding dry leaf or plant form
